Prospect Weekly: Heating Up

Don’t worry Avalanche fans, it’s only a matter of time before Cale Makar arrives. In the meantime Makar added two goals and two assists plus eight shots on goal in a 5-1 victory over Vermont to pad his Hobey Baker bid. He now has eight goals and 16 assists on the year.

Having a two goal outing himself, Shane Bowers helped BU have a successful weekend downing Providence 4-3. For those that forgot the offense he provides, he’s heating up at the right time.

Brandon Saigeon didn’t take long to get settled into his new home in Oshawa as he tallied in his first contest as General as seen below. Oshawa would go on to win 6-5 over Peterborough in overtime.

Nicky Leivermann scored his first NCAA goal in a 5-1 loss to Minnesota. Cam Morrison was the primary assist as seen below on a nice pinch. Sampo Ranta had three assists in the contest as well.

The Colorado Eagles secured a much needed victory over Bakersfield on Friday. In the 6-3 final there was a wide variety of scoring including Logan O’Connor shorthanded and one on the empty net, Michael Joly on a penalty shot, Martin Kaut on a 5v3 and this absolute beauty seen below for the game winning goal. Kaut protected the puck and dragged around the whole Condors defense and finished with a nifty wrister.

The Eagles decided that was enough goals for the weekend and were shutout 2-0 in the rematch with Bakersfield.
