The Avalanche exiled many of their prospects last week to either Utah (or sadly Ottawa) so here are some of what they have been up to. First up is Josh Anderson who scored his first professional goal in pretty typical Big Josh fashion which turned out to be the game winner in a 2-1 victory over Tulsa.

Julien Nantel scored two goals and added an assist in Utah’s 4-1 win over Idaho. Josh Dickinson starts the play with a short pass seen here below and Nantel offers the finish. Nantel has scored nine points including six goals in ten games whilst in Utah. Both Nantel and Anderson’s efforts were rewarded with a recall to the Eagles for the week. Utah currently stands on top of their division with a 30-13-5 record.

It’s pretty much routine at this point for Cale Makar to make a highlight reel play each weekend and he does just that in UMass’ 4-2 victory over Boston University. With this end-to-end rush Makar blows through the entire Terrier team with his elite skating and acceleration to set up the go-ahead goal. Stunning.

Shane Bowers was on the losing side of the aforementioned game but had something to say about it as he scored a highlight reel goal himself shorthanded. Similar to last week both Bowers and Makar had three shots on goal each as well.

The Colorado Eagles finally played back at home but had to face their nemesis Stockton. The story had a happy ending in this one as the Eagles rallied from behind 2-0 and then held on for a 3-2 win. Michael Joly nearly had a hat trick and got his first goal of the evening off of a great shot from Nicolas Meloche as seen below, who by the way is healthy and ready for an opportunity, just saying.

As per usual, it was tough for the Eagles to get the sweep and they fell 5-2 to Stockton in the rematch. Tyson Jost scored a really impressive goal on an individual rush and a great shot. Logan O’Connor scored shorthanded as seen below and he had a shorthanded assist the prior game as well.
